A Little Life Update

Hey everyone!

I know I wasn’t the best at keeping up the blog this past semester, and for that I apologize. It was a crazy semester.

School wise, I transferred over the summer to a new major, Fashion and Textile Management. It’s so great and I love the classes  that I’ve been taking that focus on Textiles and the industry surrounding them. However the economics/business classes didn’t go so well. It was kind of a big adjustment going from design school to this. Design school was full of art classes where I only needed to make an effort to succeed. This semester was definitely not that easy.

Other areas of my life were a little messy as well- I had friend drama, maid-of-honor planning to do, a part-time job, school clubs, etc. the list goes on and on. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, it was just a little much. I spread myself too thin, and in doing that, I did mediocre in all things instead of doing my best.

So I’m coming at next semester with a new mindset, and a less heavy schedule. I’m ready to push myself, with 18 hours of class (okay, maybe not less school work), but I won’t be working, so I’ll have the weekends free to recover. I am absolutely positive that I can do better than I did this semester. I’ll keep you updated on that.

Besides writing about the chaos, I really should tell you about all the exciting things that happened this semester! I joined a school club called “The Fashion Group” and became a PR Committee Co-Chair for another group that runs a huge fashion show in the Spring.  I even walked in a fashion show this semester! (!!!!!!) It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, a total rush. I also got accepted to study abroad in London this summer! (again !!!!!) I don’t think that one has truly hit me yet. Still lots to do on that front, including applying for scholarships, but holy cow am I excited!

Oh, and I can’t forget to tell you about the Bahamas. My boyfriend’s family graciously took me with them on their family vacation. They are seriously the best. It was only my second time out of the country and it was simply amazing.

I am so thankful for all the wonderful things that happened to me this semester. I am also thankful for the roughness of this semester, as it has instilled a new mindset to work harder at everything I do. I will include a few pictures below! Hopefully blogging more soon.
