Favorite Blogger of the Month: ZoeVogue

Excited to get back to sharing a blogger of the month this week! I met Zoe while we were in college- we were actually suitemates!- and she is one of the sweetest people ever. In addition to that, she is extremely passionate about fashion and her blog. Her posts cover everything from positivity, to minimalism, to essential guides! My favorite of her posts are the ones she did for her sustainability series– a seriously important topic that I think many people in fashion tend to forget about. Let’s get started!

Zoe started her first blog back in middle school for a class and loved it so much that she kept it even when school ended. Her current blog Zoe Vogue has been around since 2013, though she’s made a platform switch since then. She was actually the person I consulted about switching over to WordPress and isn’t her theme/layout just fantastic? You can really tell how much hard work she puts into every detail of her blog.

Zoe always remembers being into fashion and even designed clothes for her Bratz dolls when she was younger. Since then, her career goals have evolved from designer to editor, to now full-time blogger and business owner! She currently works at a corporate fashion company in customer service but has big dreams for the future. Besides blogging full time, Zoe says, “ultimately [I’d like to] own my own business selling clothing, write some fashion coffee table books, and start organizations for both black girls and for garment workers overseas. That’s long term. Short term I want to make money with blogging, move to NYC, and continue gaining experience in the corporate fashion world.”

Zoe’s favorite part about blogging is having her own space to share and create. She loves fashion magazines and gets excited to create her own editorials with graphic design and various layouts. In addition, posing for pictures makes Zoe feel closer to her great-grandmother, who was a model.

I’ve talked a lot about street style on my blog, so I was excited to hear Zoe describe her personal style as such. “Street style is a mix of different things to me edgy and chic, classic and cool,” Zoe says, describing one of the great things about street style as being able to pull off many different looks. Her biggest inspiration for these looks are the bloggers, influencers, and celebrities during fashion week. She finds a lot of pictures on Instagram and specifically cites the Olsen twins as some style stars she loves.

“Currently my style has been a bit girly with the springtime. I’ve been obsessed with florals, ruffles, basket bags, and summer heels,” Zoe says of her current style. Similar to street style, she loves the ability to mix various textures and patterns. For shopping these pieces, she cites Shoptagr (which I’ve never heard of, hello new download!) which stores all of her favorites across different stores. Poshmark and eBay are her favorite resale sites, and Zoe mentions that she scored her first designer bag on eBay!

Zoe says that she currently enjoys online shopping more than going to a store, but doesn’t have one favorite place to shop. Her current favorite pair of shoes are a pair of white mules from Forever21, giving her instant height and still being comfortable. She loves the mule so much that she recently purchased some black mules from Target and yellow ones from Marc Fisher.

I’ve been asking my featured bloggers to show off one of their favorite striped looks, and Zoe’s does not disappoint. It’s the definition of street style with the mix of different textures and patterns. Plus as someone who always does black and white stripes, I’m loving the orange on this striped look. And can you believe those awesome sneaker-sandals Zoe put with the look? She looks amazing and all the outfits you’ll find on her blog are of the same caliber!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this brief intro to Zoe and her blogging career. She’s truly passionate about the industry and bringing new creativity to it. I can’t wait to follow along to see where her career is headed and you should follow her too!
